Good News Minute

So in church on Sundays, we have "good news minute" in Relief Society where you can raise your hand and share something good that happened to you during the week. This is where all of the baby announcements and good tests are reported. Anyone who knows me well probably already knows that I LOVE good news minute. You know that for one minute, you're going to hear nothing but happiness. It's wonderful! I always want to share something but sometimes hesitate to if I don't think it's good enough. It's especially hard to top when someone says that they're bringing a child into the world. So, I've decided to make my own good news minute on our blog. So here ya go!

Anna slept for seven and a half hours last night.
Josh is in Columbus, Ohio right now interviewing with Ohio State for their PhD program for accounting. Our good friends Ryan and Alisa Harrison left this on our doorstep last night. It's a candy gram for Josh to wish him good luck with his interview. I don't know if we ever posted about this, but Josh's younger brother just got engaged! We're so happy for them. They're getting married May 30 in Atlanta. Yep!! That's right....GEORGIA! We're going on vacation!! We're both so excited to go see my family and spend a couple of weeks there. It's going to be great.
Josh and I ordered our cap and gowns this week! Talk about excitement! We get to walk together, which will be so awesome. I'm so excited!

The weather is perfect and just going to get better! I went on a walk today and it felt great! Pushing a stroller on walks is a much better work out than just walking.

I've been pushing Anna in her stroller on campus, and it's SO fun! I cannot stop smiling when I push her. It's so fun. It's kind of like when you get engaged, and you're wearing your ring for the first time. You think that everyone is looking at your ring because it's so new to you and so exciting when probably, people are actually NOT looking at all. I just feel like everyone wants to look in to see her. It's really fun.

Josh and I both got A's on our last tests! Oh happy day!

So, good news minute is overall the best thing ever! I LOVE it! Y'all should try it on your blogs. It's fun. The very best news is that I have the sweetest husband and little baby in the world, and I couldn't be happier.

Anna's First Day at Church

We finally decided to take Anna to church this weekend. We figure she's been inactive long enough. She was sooo excited to go. She couldn't stop talking about it all weekend (in baby talk, of course). We had Stake Conference this weekend and it was wonderful. The speakers taught us about the importance of the family and to have faith, hope, and charity. It was great.

It was Anna's first time wearing a dress. She LOVED it! You can tell by the look on her face that Daddy's wallet will definitely be suffering in the near future, while Anna's closet will be bursting at the seams. We are so happy that she's smiling in response to our encouragement now. She's so adorable.
"Hey, my name is Anna. I'm obviously the cutest baby ever. Don't be jealous."

Anna likes to wink at her mom and dad. As soon as the smell hits our noses, we know why.
Mommy is gorgeous and Anna is beautiful. Daddy is one lucky guy.
We are Fami-Lee....Anna and my gorgeous wife and me.
Daddy couldn't be happier.
How did the guy in the picture above get the girls in the picture below? It's a mystery.

Our Life in a Nutshell

Life has been keeping us super busy lately! We had a great Valentine's Day. I have to say, it's one of my favorite holidays and this year was exceptional. We were homebound because of our little bundle of joy but that didn't stop the fun. We made heart shaped pancakes for breakfast and exchanged Valentine's. During the afternoon, we made lots of Valentine treats, in the shape of hearts of course. For dinner, we made a homemade pizza and watched a chik flick! It was a wonderful day. The best part was just getting to spend all day together. We both feel really lucky to have each other. What more could you ask for? We set up our camera on our countertop to take a timed picture. Right as it went off, Josh stepped into a burning candle filled with hot wax. As you can see, he got quite the surprise. I had no idea why in the world he was screaming. It was hilarious! We are still laughing about it.
No matter how fussy Anna gets, the moment her little bottom touches bath water, she's in heaven. She LOVES being in the water. I can't wait to take her swimming. I'm especially excited about buying her a new bathing suit. I love bathing suit shopping anyways and everything for a baby is so cute. Put the two together and you have one happy experience.
She likes to sing while she's in the tub. Cute huh?
Ok, so we finally got some good smiling pictures. Doesn't she look beautiful. She always smiles the best right after she eats. Who isn't happy after a good meal?

Here is Anna's look-a-like! She loves it when her daddy comes home to see her.
We've really been having so much fun hanging out together during the day. It's hard to get anything done because I just want to play with her all the time.
So, Utah feels amazing right now. It was in the SIXTIES today! I think this is the perfect weather. I opened up all of our windows today, (all two of them), and let the sunshine pour in. It even smelled good. I LOVE spring time, especially when it comes early. I think every single status update on facebook today had to do with the weather. It just makes you feel good.
Anna is getting ready to go on her very first walk around the block. She was pretty excited, that is until we took too long.
We just think her crying is SO cute.

I think we're going to have to take more walks because she fell asleep in just a matter of minutes. It was great! She loves this weather too.

One Month Old!

Anna is already one month old. We took lots of pictures of her and this is what she felt about it. After Josh wakes up, Anna loves crawling in our bed to sleep. She thinks it's fun! She'll be fussy in her crib or in her bouncer but as soon as she lays in our bed, she's fine. It's fun to sleep right next to her, and look how cute she is!
This is the beginning of many monthly pictures. We got a beautiful picture frame from Josh's brother and sister-in-law that has a spot for a picture of each month that she grows. The picture frame is absolutely gorgeous, and we're excited to fill it up.
Just some more pictures to enjoy!

I've noticed lately how big and beautiful her eyes are. I just love looking at her all day!

Anna Banana

So, it's been a while since the last update. We've been having so much fun with our little Anna. She is such a good baby! She sleeps all night, only waking up once or twice to eat. She is easy to put down to sleep too. She loves taking baths but hates when she has to get out because it's so cold!
Her little personality is already coming out. We think she's going to be a cuddler because she hates being alone. When I get ready in the morning, I put her in her bouncer right beside me. It works great until I walk in the other room. As soon as she can't see me, she starts wailing! There are also times when I'll be right beside her when she's in her bouncer and she just cries and cires. Then, as soon as I pick her up to hold her, she's fine! She wants to be held all the time!
The doctor told us to do tummy time with her during the day. We've been trying to do it a lot with her but practice is definitely not making perfect because she HATES it. We're supposed to do it for 10 minutes, and she cries the whole time! We're working on it...

I really like this little picture of her. She's almost smiling for the camera. Josh has really been a great dad! He sings to Anna, plays with her, and constantly tells her how much he loves her. He doesn't complain when it's his turn to change the dirty diaper and he always offers to get up in the night time to help out. Anna is one lucky girl to have him.

I think her hair might have some red in it, what do you think?

A lady in my home ward had this dress made for Anna. Isn't it beautiful?

The joy of being a mom has far exceeded my expectations. There may be a lot of dirty diapers and sleepy nights but that's just a small price for all of the love and joy I feel for this little girl. I love being able to be at home with her all day and be there for her. She may only be three weeks old, but I think she knows I'm her mom. There have been some instances where she'll look at me and I just know that she loves me too. It's been a great three weeks. We're so lucky to have her.
