Right after we got finished with our California trip, we went straight from the airport to north Atlanta to see our brand new niece. My brother, Bryan, and his sweet wife, Ashley, just had their first child. Aubrey is the sweetest little cutie you'll ever meet. She was born healthy and has a full head of hair. We could not get enough of her. Do you see Daniel's face in the picture below? He did NOT like the attention I gave to Aubrey. With just seven weeks left in this pregnancy, I am super worried about how Daniel will handle our new addition to our family. I think this picture sums up how I imagine it all going. Wish me luck.
I seriously am obsessed with this picture. Anna with her first girl cousin on the Stewart side. She was totally in love with holding little Aubrey. Anna could not WAIT for Aubrey to get here. Just darling!
Daniel even warmed up to her. Andrew wanted to hold Aubrey too and after literally about 10 seconds, he screams, "Done!," and ran off and played! Hilarious. Girls and boys are so different.
I know this is a terrible picture of me. We had just finished the worst travel experience EVER. Daniel screamed bloody murder for our entire 5 hour flight, we had way too many bags to carry, not enough to eat, we all woke up at three that morning and no one napped, then when we FINALLY made it to Atlanta, I walked around the airport crying because I just couldn't take it anymore. We then sat down on the shuttle to get our car and I was bawling! The driver takes us to where our car should have been ....and then we realized that we got on the WRONG shuttle and were not at our car or even close to it. By then, it was ALMOST funny....but not yet. This is the short version of our story, but with all that being said, it was a long day. However, I still want to document my first picture of me with my sweet little niece.
After we went home and recovered for a few days, we had all of my side of the family come down to Tallahassee where we celebrated the 4th of July. Amanda and her two boys flew in, along with Uncle Greg. We had such a wonderful time with everyone. I love hosting any kind of holiday. The kids helped me to buy some fun things while they were here to decorate. It was a great week.
We spent the 4th eating way too much and having way too much fun. It was great.
Amanda bought stuff to make cupcakes with the kids. They were in heaven. Being a helper is the best thing in the world.
Oh man, we can never do a 4th of July without buying fireworks. I thought, oh it will be fun. My expectations were far surpassed. I absolutely loved watching the kids get so excited every time a firework went off. SO. MUCH. FUN.
Um, what happened to the lighting here?
Even though you can hardly see these photos, just know they are of the kids decorating their 4th of July cupcakes. We bought cute little red, white, and blue cupcake papers and little flags to go on top. They were darling.
All of the pictures here turned out terribly. Ugh! It was SO, SO fun though. You'll just have to take my word for it.
We did this after our firework show and it was about 10:15 at night. That is 3 hours past our kids bedtime but they were still on cloud nine. Even little Daniel was loving the sparklers.
Our very poor attempt to spell, "USA." Um, yea, that was totally my fault.
Right before the 4th, we all went down to spend a night in Panama City. It was one of the best trips to the beach we've ever had. Here is little Dan Dan getting ready to head down to the waves.
Daniel's hands were coated in sand the entire time and it totally bugged him. He ate all of his food with these sandy hands. I don't know quite how much of the sand he ate, but I'm sure it was gross and way more than he should have.
There is nothing like relaxing on the white sand, watching the waves come in.
I think this picture is hilarious. "Wait just a minute, Mom."
My little princess.
Don't you think Amanda is gorgeous? I just love her.
David was such a little fish. He seemed to be in heaven the whole time.
Our condo had a great pool and a splash pad. Daniel was the biggest fan of the little kiddie part. It was perfect for his age.
See how happy he is?
There was also a fountain right outside where the parking lot was. Not too exciting, right? WRONG. This was one of the boys' favorite parts. They were obsessed with it.
After dinner our first night, my dad wanted to take all the kids to putt putt. It was the perfect night. The weather was not hot at all, breezy, and had low humidity. The kids were all happy and had no fighting. It was SO fun watching them all try to figure out how to get their ball into that little hole.
Daniel even grabbed a club and ball. He was just as into it as anyone else. He totally had his "focused face" on and tried really hard to do a good job. It was ADORABLE!
I loved this course. It was all a jungle theme and there were darling animals everywhere! The kids thought it was so cool. The landscaping was very clean and green. Literally, the best time we've ever had at putt putt.
Andrew even got a hole-in-one on one of the holes. He was thrilled beyond belief. We were all cheering for him. I loved his little excited face.
Daniel often ended up just putting the ball in the hole after several strokes.
LG was determined to give me a funny face here but my mom couldn't quite get her giggles out because of it. For some reason, we all thought this was really funny. Sometimes, little things are the funniest. I don't quite know how that works out.
Here we go.
After putt putt, we all got snow cones, courtesy of Grandpa. They were delicious and a perfect treat for a perfect night. We also got to watch fireworks right off our balcony that night. Some people were shooting them off right below us and they exploded about at the height of our condo. It was awesome. Of course, we had more treats that night and watched a movie. Great, great night.
Uncle Greg channeling his inner ape.
Aunt Amanda buried Anna in the sand. She thought it was pretty awesome.
We packed PB&J sandwiches for the kids. I thought all of them lined up in their little chairs eating was the cutest thing and had to snap a picture. There was a restaurant/bar right by our pool and it was delicious. The adults all got some delicious food, and we were all in heaven.
After we got back from Panama City, we took the family up to see the campus. It was really cool to walk around....and really HOT. We had a great time though seeing Josh's new stomping ground.
This is the football stadium. We plan to spend lots of time here watching some fun football games.
Our neighborhood hosts its own fireworks show on their golf course. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that they do this. We don't have to drive downtown, be in huge crowds, feel cramped the whole time. We walked down to the golf course about 30 minutes before it started with our strollers. We set up our blankets and just relaxed. The weather was so nice, and we sat pretty close to where they shot them off. It was right on the lake too. The show itself was AMAZING. I was so impressed. When it was over, we just walked back home. It was so relaxing.
Here we are waiting for the show to start.
David is super into Star Wars, as you can see.
We also spent a lot of time playing in the back yard. We jumped on the trampoline, swung on the rope swing, went swimming, played with bikes, and just ran around.
Daniel loves when it is his turn.
Aunt Amanda even got a turn and totally laughed with joy the whole time. We all have an inner kid in us.
It's hard for me to push Josh with our little baby inside so Amanda assumed the position. Good times.
Andrew literally laughs the WHOLE time he is on the rope swing. No one, and I mean no one, loves the rope swing more than this child. He is at his happiest here.
What a cutie! We love little Jacob. He always says the funniest things.
Imitating Wolverine.
It was a great week with the fam. We can't wait til we're all back together again.
