One Year Older and Wiser Too!

We blinked our eyes and Andrew turned one!  Wow, what a quick year.  It's hard to imagine Andrew not being part of our lives.  He seems to add so much to our family even though he's so little.  My mom got to fly out for the week to celebrate Andrew's birthday so we've posted a few pics from the week.  It was so great to have her here.  We already miss her terribly.  She's the best!
Notice the blue crayon in Andrew's mouth.  Yea, luckily I saw this in the picture because I definitely didn't catch it in real life.

Anna LOVES Granny's ipad.  She can totally navigate her way around without anyone's help.  Um, that's amazing that a two year old can do that.
I want to share some things about Andrew that you may not know.

#1. Andrew is a Mama's boy through and through.  I left him in the room with Josh and Anna for one minute today and he wandered the halls crying and looking for me.  As soon as I got back, he was happy again and crawled all over me.
(This is Andrew eating his b-day breakfast, scrambled eggs!)
#2.  He loves to eat crayons, toothbrushes, toilet paper and dirt.  In other words, you can't take your eyes off of him for a second.
#3. His first word was "cheese".  I attribute this to the fact that I am constantly taking pictures of the kids and trying with all my might to get Anna to smile.  So, he'll grab the fake camera and walk around the house saying, "cheese, cheese, cheese".  Yea, it melts my heart every time.
#4. Andrew has been in the 90-95th percentile for weight and height his whole life.  I took him to the doctor this week and he weighs 26 pounds 9 ounces which puts him right up there in that category.
#5. He loves to play catch.  LOVES IT!!  Josh will hold his hands while Anna throws it to him and he just laughs and laughs every time.
#6. His favorite room in the house is....the bathroom.  Yuck!  He loves to pull the toilet paper roll until it's empty and then eat the toilet paper.  He just learned to take the closed toilet seat and open it all the way.  I have often found him with spoons, cups, etc. swishing around toilet water.
#7.  While Andrew is in his high chair eating dinner, all of the sudden out of no where, he starts cracking up.  He just laughs and laughs.  If you laugh back at him, then he totally loses it and can't control his giggles.
#8.  Andrew has cement blocks for feet.  Yes, it's true.  This boy is almost wearing Anna's size.  This is one of the first things I noticed about him when he was born.  It has been nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find shoes that fit him.  Right now he's in a size 7, which is crazy!  His feet are fat, square and long!
#9.  Andrew's favorite pass time is shooting hoops in our basketball net.  It really intrigues him.
#10.  This is honestly one of the happiest little boys I've ever seen.  He is always grinning ear to ear and is super friendly with everyone.  He is a great joy to this family.  We love him very much.  Happy Birthday Andrew!

Let's Go Fly a Kite

We bought Anna a kite at the dollar store.  Great buy!  She loves it!!  Josh showed her how to do it and she just took off, running back and forth over and over again.
 Doesn't Andrew look old?

What a little cheeser!  Cutie.  ;-)
Andrew's new favorite thing to do is color.  He loves sidewalk chalk.  He'll only actually color for a minute or two.  I think he just likes holding something in his hand.  He won't put it down to save his life.

What's a blog without a jumping picture, huh?
Our friend let us borrow a tunnel and the kids are in heaven.  They think it's the best thing in the world!

Fun Together

Why buy toys when you have a laundry basket?  I don't think I've ever heard them laugh for as long as they did when they were in this thing.  I spun them around and then dipped them backwards.  As I popped them back upright, I thought they would die of laughter.  It was really fun for all.
Anna really loves watching princess movies.  So, if she doesn't cry at night time when she goes to sleep, I let her watch a few minutes of a Disney movie the next morning.  I was explaining this ultimatum to her one night, and she told me that she wanted me to watch it with her.  I said that I would.  She quickly responded, "But don't play on the computer mom and DON'T COOK ANYTHING!!".  It was pretty funny.  I guess she's picked up on that being my time to get things done.

GC Pics

Here are just a few pics we snapped during General Conference.  Nothing too exciting.  Just for your enjoyment, (mostly to make the grandparents happy).

Anna's favorite thing in the WORLD to do is jump, jump, jump.
 Matchies!

Typical Weekend

Here's our little handyman in mismatched pj's and loving life.  He thought the tools were great to look at and even more fun to play with.
We took another trip to Grant's Farm.  You just can't beat free. This time they had everything decorated for Halloween.  It was super cute.  The kids had a great time.

Andrew fell asleep before we even got into the park and slept the whole time.  Now, that's his kind of morning.

I wish you could have heard her squealing.  She LOVES the carousel with all her heart.  She would never get off if she could.

 It was a great day!

Chopped

We had a date night at home with our friends last week.  We made it into "Chopped" night.  I don't know if any of you have seen the show Chopped but it's basically a cook-off with mystery ingredients.  So, each family gathered 5 mystery ingredients and we had to make a spectacular dessert.  They turned out pretty good considering.
You can just see the fight in their eyes.  ;-)

This is the Hintze's dessert.  Yum!

This is our dessert.  It tasted better than it looked.  What a fun night.
