HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

So, I have the sweetest husband in the whole world. I came home this week from a long, hard day of school to find this beautiful Gerber Daisy and a wonderful, hot meal waiting for me. I love him so much!! Thank you sweetheart!
Josh and I celebrated our 10 month anniversary on Tuesday!! Tuesday also marked my 200th day of being pregnant! That's a long time! It been such a good pregnancy. Hopefully, it will continue that way. I went to the doctor today and everything is going great. Our little Anna has a very strong, healthy heartbeat. I'm 29 weeks now! Only 11 more weeks to go. I can't wait for our little girl to get here. She's going to be so wonderful!! Last night we went to our friend's house, Kip and Carolyn. They invited us over to carve pumpkins with them, and we had a blast! Pumpkins are so cheap, so if you haven't already bought one, get one and carve it today! It's too fun to pass up. Our friends Chase and Allison came too and whenever they're around, everyone has a good time!!

Kip designed his own pattern. He carved a BYU Cougar, and it turned out awesome! Good job Kip!

This is my baby working hard on our scary skull. We had pumpkin carving utensils this time, which are amazing by the way. It made it so much easier! Definitely worth a couple bucks!

Look at our finished product! Pretty good huh? Ours is the one in the middle, incase you couldn't tell by the "Lees"!!!

Happy Halloween!! I am completely obsessed with holidays! I don't know what it is, but I love just about EVERY holiday and want to do everything I can to make it really fun! I really love having fun traditions to make each holiday memorable. It's been great being married because now we can start our own family traditions. Since I'm just getting started with my traditions I don't have a ton yet, so I would LOVE some ideas of what you like to do for Halloween! Anyone?
This morning I woke up before my alarm went off because I was just so excited to get Halloween started. I surprised my sweetheart by making Jack-O-Lantern chocolate chip pancakes!! It was so much fun! They were delicious and really cute. I wanted to dye them orange but my lack of food coloring prevented that! ...next year!! It was my first go at making pumpkin pancakes so even though they were good, they'll be even better next year.

BYU Women's Soccer Game with the Harrisons

Last night we went with Ryan and Alisa Harrison to the BYU Women's Soccer Game vs. Air Force. It was a blast! We love spending time with the Harrisons. They are so much fun. Added to that, BYU completely dominated Air Force and then afterward we got FREE frozen yogurt at Yoasis! A free date with great company - can life get any better? I submit that it cannot.

Danny and Amy Huffmire's Wedding

Danny and Amy Huffmire got married on Friday, October 24, 2008 in the Salt Lake Temple. They look so happy. We went to the sealing and then afterward, we did an endowment session at the temple. It was fun to go through the Salt Lake Temple again. This was Diana's first time and she loved it! After the session got out, we went straight to the wedding reception at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It was really cool to have the reception overlooking the temple. We are so happy for Danny and Amy!

October Fun

On Sunday, our friends Erin and Ian invited us over for dinner and games. We had so much fun. The dinner was delicious and we've never played those games before so it was fun to learn something new. We played Cribbage, Liar's Dice, and another dice game. It was great!

On Monday, we invited a few of our friends over for Halloween style FHE. I made some yummy pumpkin bars and we carved pumpkins to help us get in the Halloween spirit. We even toasted our pumpkin seeds and they were DELICIOUS. We've been enjoying them for the past couple of days now. Chris and Erin brought two of their SIX pumpkins to carve. If you couldn't guess, Erin LOVES Halloween!
Charles and Emily designed their own scary faced pumpkin and it turned out great...although it doesn't really look too scary! But really cute! Josh and I were the uncreative pumpkin carvers and got our design off the internet. It worked great though. We had so much fun carving with our friends. We LOVE Halloween, so it really helped us get in the mood. Now all we have to do is figure out our costumes. Any ideas? Last year we were Link and Tracy from Hairspray!
Don't these look awesome! We were all so proud!

Our Wonderful Weekend

Josh and I have had such a great weekend!! It's General Conference time again for our church. We got to go up to Salt Lake on Saturday morning and hear talks given by our prophet and other leaders. It was a great experience. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang at this session, and it always awes me how amazing their voices are.
This morning, I made some homemade dinner rolls. They got a little burned on the bottoms but were still really good. I've been excited all week to get some baking done this weekend. I don't know what it is about Conference weekend, but it just puts me in the mood to cook!

This recipe turned out great! It's a Spicy White Bean Chili. It's one of our favorites. The best part is, it's SO easy to make!! The aroma made our whole house smell delicious. Mmm!!

For the last session of Conference, we decided to drive up to the canyon and listen to it on the radio. It was so perfect. We parked our car in a grove of trees between the moutains, cracked our window and felt the crisp air, and listened to a babbling brook beside us. It was very peaceful. The scenery made me feel very relaxed and grateful for the beauty of nature. We drove down the Alpine Loop and admired all of the gorgeous colors! It was so, so beautiful. All of the leaves had changed and were still glistening from the leftover rain drops. I had never been down this trail, and I was just amazed!! I wish these pictures did the beauty of the scene justice, but they don't even come close. I guess that's what you get when you use a point and shoot camera. If you live here in Utah, GO NOW! Don't miss the beautiful leaves; you'll love it!
