Daniel's Blessing Day

We blessed our little Daniel Joshua Lee in church last week.  Josh gave a beautiful blessing for our beautiful little boy.  We were so blessed have both of our parents come out for the occasion.  It truly was a special weekend.  We love our family so much.
Unfortunately, while everyone was here, we had a throw up bug going around our house.  Anna got it first, then Andrew, then me, then Anna again, then my mother-in-law.  I had all of these fun things planned to do and to cook.  We ended up laying low and ordering pizza.  Throw up bugs are the worst!  We still had a great time all being together!
My little "hunky muffin".  I can't stop kissing on this little fellow.  I just adore him.

Right after sacrament meeting.  It was a great day!
We haven't been able to see the Lees for a while and it was wonderful being able to catch up with them.  They were so good to us.  We're excited to be able to visit CA more when Josh has a job!

My dad is so hilarious!  He didn't realize until Sunday morning that he packed two different black Sunday shoes.  At least he got a right and a left, instead of two lefts.  ;-)
 Love. Love. Love them!

It was interesting trying to get a picture of our family.  And by interesting, I mean impossible!  Andrew only wanted to play with sticks and Anna only wanted to cry.  Daniel too, for that matter.  Whew!  At least we're all there.

We called Grandpa the "baby whisperer".  He was so good with Mr. Daniel.

They're buds!

Anna finally stopped crying when all the attention was given back to her.  ;-)  She wanted her picture taken!
She is just the sweetest thing!  I feel like she's growing up so fast!

Thanksgiving 2012

I have SO much blogging to do and so little time.  I cannot believe that Christmas is almost here.  I'm not usually this behind the eight ball but it is just really sneaking up on me this year.  It just seems that time is speeding up faster and faster every day.  Here are some pictures from our Thanksgiving week.  We had so much fun spending time with each other.  It was a great week and we truly felt so grateful for all of our blessings.
We wanted to just do a family Thanksgiving this year.  We tried to scale back but it's hard to scale back on Thanksgiving because there are so many "must haves".  I brined our turkey this year.  I have never done this before but it turned out great!  It was so moist and had so much flavor.  It was much more effort but totally worth it.
I was super nervous to make the dressing.  I've never made it by myself before.  I had my mom tell my step by step how to do it three or four times.  Wow!  It was so yummy!  I think the trick is to getting a really, really good broth.  Then you've got it.  Looking at these pictures makes me hungry for it all over again.
I also found a new recipe for the sweet potatoes.  You use sweetened condensed milk in it.  I. Loved. It.  You can look it up on ourbestbites.com.  I'm so glad I found this recipe and will probably never try another one again.  It's perfect!  Super rich, but perfect!
It is amazing that you can spend hours and hours and HOURS cooking so that you sit down for 15 minutes and the meal is over and your kids won't touch a bite of it.  Still...totally worth it!

 Doesn't that look yummy?
I was totally exhausted by the end of the day.

What's Thanksgiving without pie?  Well, I could not WAIT to make a pecan pie.  I've been looking forward to it for quite a while.  So, I made it...and burnt it!  I was so disappointed.  Luckily I had the ingredients I needed for an apple pie so made that to replace my first sad attempt.  This one turned out great.  I think I just decided that Thanksgiving needs to happen more than once a year.
On the day after Thanksgiving, we decorated our house.  I LOVE doing this while listening to Christmas music, eating Christmas candy, and drinking hot chocolate.  I look forward to it every year, and I have not been disappointed yet!
 Blurry but still cute!
Do you like how the kids decorated the tree?

And here is my sweetest little man!  Oh, I am totally in love with this guy.  He just pulls at my heart strings.
Lots, lots, lots more pictures to come.  Stay tuned.

Daniel's Professional Photos

Holy cow!  I can't believe I haven't blogged these yet.  We got Daniel's pictures professionally taken by the MOST amazing photographer and friend.  Check out her site.  www.danicanelsonphotography.com.  She's truly talented.  We were really happy with how these turned out.  So take a look at my little sweet muffin at just three days old.
