Our Wonderful Weekend

Josh and I have had such a great weekend!! It's General Conference time again for our church. We got to go up to Salt Lake on Saturday morning and hear talks given by our prophet and other leaders. It was a great experience. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang at this session, and it always awes me how amazing their voices are.
This morning, I made some homemade dinner rolls. They got a little burned on the bottoms but were still really good. I've been excited all week to get some baking done this weekend. I don't know what it is about Conference weekend, but it just puts me in the mood to cook!

This recipe turned out great! It's a Spicy White Bean Chili. It's one of our favorites. The best part is, it's SO easy to make!! The aroma made our whole house smell delicious. Mmm!!

For the last session of Conference, we decided to drive up to the canyon and listen to it on the radio. It was so perfect. We parked our car in a grove of trees between the moutains, cracked our window and felt the crisp air, and listened to a babbling brook beside us. It was very peaceful. The scenery made me feel very relaxed and grateful for the beauty of nature. We drove down the Alpine Loop and admired all of the gorgeous colors! It was so, so beautiful. All of the leaves had changed and were still glistening from the leftover rain drops. I had never been down this trail, and I was just amazed!! I wish these pictures did the beauty of the scene justice, but they don't even come close. I guess that's what you get when you use a point and shoot camera. If you live here in Utah, GO NOW! Don't miss the beautiful leaves; you'll love it!

Update!

We haven't been too good about keeping up with our blog, so here's what's been going on lately. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have class until seven so Josh usually makes dinner for us. On this one particular Thursday evening, I came home to find dinner all ready, (it was delicious), romantic music, and candles all over the table. He made these little tea candles to spell out "I love you." It was amazing!! He even included the candle from the day we got engaged. Josh is such an amazing husband! I definitely don't deserve someone so wonderful. I feel so lucky and blessed to be his wife.
So, the day we found out we were going to be having a little baby girl, I HAD to go shopping!!! It was definitely a must. We got two cute dresses, a soft pink blanket, and the most adorable little shoes. I keep the shoes on my nightstand so I can look at them all the time. Josh and I pull out Anna's little dresses everyday just to say, "Awe, she's going to be so amazing!!" It's really fun!

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!

I have been waiting to post this blog since I found out I was pregnant! We're having a little GIRL!!!! Can you believe it?!! Most people guessed that it was a girl, Josh and I included, and now we know. This morning was our appointment to have the ultrasound done and it was so amazing. I felt so anxious before that I thought my stomach would absolutely flip inside out. When the technician finally started, I was just amazed at how beautiful that image was of our little baby. The technician asked us if we wanted to know what the gender was and we said yes, and then it felt like forever before she finally told us. When she said it was a little girl, my heart just leapt!!! I started crying a little bit and was completely overwhelmed with happiness. She said that the baby looks very healthy and has a great heartbeat, (149 beats/min). Hearing that our baby is healthy is the best news in the world.
Josh is completely ecstatic; he's so happy! He said that as soon as he heard it was a girl, he just began picturing holding her in his arms for the first time and seeing how beautiful she is. We haven't been able to stop smiling since the appointment. This is such a huge blessing in our lives, and we feel so happy to have the priviledge of being parents to this sweet little spirit. We can't wait to see her and for her to look up at us and become bonded as a strong family. We love our little Anna.

The Baby is Kicking!

So, this morning as Diana and I were getting ready for church, Diana started feeling the baby kick. She's been able to feel it for a few weeks now, but I haven't. But this morning, I finally felt a kick!!! It was sooo cool! I have never felt a baby kick (at least not an unborn baby, haha). We are so excited for this little baby to get here! We find out on Friday, September 5 if we're having a boy or a girl. Any guesses?
P.S. Doesn't my beautiful wife's haircut look awesome!

We're Back in Provo!!

We have a lot to catch up on. Josh finished his internship this last week and received an offer for a job. We're still thinking about all of our options but overall, he really liked the internship. When he came home from Disney World, I absolutely couldn't wait to see him. I never want to be away again. He brought me a chocolate tin of Mickey Mouse. It's adorable and chocolate is definitely my favorite.
So, we left on Wednesday morning at 4AM for Utah. We drove all day, slept in the car for like 5 or 6 hours and finished up our trip. The drive went by really fast and was so fun!! We sang to the radio, listened to Harry Potter 4, and slept a lot. It was a really great trip! When we got back, we were able to get into our apartment right away which was really nice! Then, the next day, we rented a U-Haul and with the help of family and friends, we were able to move all of our stuff in only an hour. That was way better than the last 12 hour move!!! Pictures of our house are soon to come.

On Saturday, our friends Jeremy and Stephanie Lovelace took us out on a picnic in the canyon in South Fork Park. It was amazing! The view was breathtaking and the weather was perfect. It was so fun to hang out with them and their little girl, Audrey. It's so nice to have such wonderful friends.

Josh especially loved playing with Audrey. I just know that he's going to be the BEST daddy in the world. I can't wait for him to be able to play with our little baby.

Ok, so I know I already posted pregnancy pictures but I just HAD to do it again. We took a picture today and compared it with old ones and about died! Look how HUGE I am!! It's so fun to see the difference. The first picture is me at 14 weeks and the second one is 4 weeks later at 18 weeks. Isn't that incredible?!! I didn't even know that I looked that big. We have our first doctor's appointment in the morning with the doctor who will deliver our little bundle of joy. We can't wait!!

I haven't had access to the internet in about a week and a half and it's been AWFUL. I don't know if any of you have had to go through such a terribly internet lonely time, but it's hard. Now that I have it again I feel like I'm living the life!!

My sweet husband is off to Disney World without me. Ernst & Young took interns from all over the world to Disney World this week for a intern conference; unfortunately wives weren't invited. Sad day huh? I miss him so much. This is the first time we've been apart in a year. The good news however is that I get to spend all week with my family. It's been great. My mom and I are busy cleaning out closets, and it's actually really fun! We all went out to eat last night and had a great time. Josh and I are headed back to Utah next week to get settled in before school starts and just can't wait!
