Holy Cow! Anna is in preschool. I am so excited for her. We went on Tuesday for a meet and greet with her teacher. All of the pictures of her in purple are from that day. It was so fun to get to see everything that she gets to do. Her school is starting in a brand new building this year. It's beautiful and feels squeaky clean.

Josh was sweet enough to take off the morning so that he could share this exciting day with her. I just LOVE this picture!
Andrew would have preferred if we left him there for a few hours to explore. He just couldn't touch everything fast enough. Only a couple more years for this little man.
This is in the school's gym/auditorium. Isn't that darling! That big box in the background is a Smart Board. I'm sure lots of you have heard of this before, but I'm just not that cool. I had no idea what it was. Her teacher said that it hangs on the wall like a dry erase board but it's interactive like an ipad. The kids can touch it and use it like an ipad. She will also have an ipad in the classroom to learn from. Talk about a whole new generation of kids. She'll think I'm so dumb with technology in just a few years.
OK, here starts her first day of preschool. We had a nice big breakfast so she wouldn't get too hungry while she was away. She loved eating her waffles and smoothie while we were just buzzing with excitement about what was coming. She could hardly wait.
It was so fun getting her all dressed. I wanted to make sure she was comfortable and able to go to the potty without any help. So, no snaps or buttons for her bottoms.
Daddy called right before we left to wish her a happy first day of preschool. Doesn't she look so grown up? Maybe next year she'll be texting him. ;-)

Granny bought her the cutest little princess backpack. Anna is completely head over heels for it. She talks about it all of the time. Thanks Granny!
Here we are at school. She had to wait in a line on the floor with her other classmates until 8:30. She was being pretty shy but brave at the same time.
We finally got to go in her classroom. She hung her little backpack up all by herself. I think she began to warm up pretty quickly.
She put her name on the board to mark that she was there. Then, she got to play blocks at the table. It seemed to be a good ice-breaker for her. I was just eating it all up. I felt so proud of her for behaving so well.
After I left, she seemed fine and VERY excited to be there. Here I am outside of her classroom for just one more picture. Ms. Ashley is her teacher. I loved the whole experience even more than I thought I would. I am just so excited for her to get to have all of these great learning experiences. I think that she will thrive in preschool. We're both very excited to see all of the things she'll learn about this year.
I couldn't wait to hear all about her day when she got home. I was just itching to go pick her up. I asked her if she liked it to which she responded, "yea". Then I asked what she did. "I don't know," she responded. Then, every question after that got the same answer. I finally was able to pull a little out of her. She got to play in the gym on a pink bike. She painted with red and blue paint. She had pretzels for a snack. They read a story and she got to play with the dollhouse. I figure that was good enough.
The poor girl was so exhausted though and totally zonked out during quiet time. She can hardly wait to do it again next week.
