Loads of Personality

This little princess has a whole lot of personality. One day we were out taking pictures while the kids were swimming and Anna just surprised us with some funny faces. Once she got started, she just couldn't stop. She made all of these up by herself too. We got a good laugh. Take a look!

Lovely Visitors!

My mom and sister stopped by last week as they were driving home from Idaho. We got to enjoy them for a few days and loved every minute of it. Anna has been asking for them every day since then. It was really fun. We got to go shopping, spend a day at the zoo, and just enjoy being with each other. I couldn't ask for a better family. I love them so much and miss them like crazy! Here we are at the zoo. It was a great day!
We saw lots of animals, but I think the hippos are my favorite.

Hurry back soon!

Singin' in the Rain

We had a DOWN POUR this past week. Not just a little rain, but a TON of rain! Anna had been so excited to go swimming all day long. We were waiting for Daddy to come home from work so we could go. Right as we were finishing eating dinner, it began to rain. Then, it poured! We couldn't believe it. Everything flooded instantly. Anna was really sad she couldn't swim so Josh decided to take her out in the rain instead. They jumped and puddles, danced in the rain, and were as happy as could be. We couldn't get her to come back in. I think she had more fun in the rain than she could have in the pool. So, these pictures are dark but you get the picture!

Andrew and I just played inside during all of this. I don't think he minded staying in.

Journal Worthy

We've had a few journal worthy experiences lately. We have vallet trash twice a week, so yesterday I was taking the trash to our curb. It's about 15 feet in front of my door. I shut the door behind me so that Andrew wouldn't crawl out and get hurt. I put the trash down and turned around to go back inside. The door was locked! I couldn't believe it. Anna was trying to open the door to come out and get me. Instead, she locked the door!! I freaked out. We have a mail slot on our door, so I opened it and said, "Anna, UNLOCK the door!!" This was her response, "NNNOOOOOOOO!!!!" I was trapped outside while they were crying inside. Andrew is crawling up the stairs like crazy now but always falls down if I'm not there to catch him. Needless to say, my heart was beating pretty fast. I ran to my neighbors to ask if they would come stand by my door while I ran down to the office. I then sprinted to my leasing office and they drove me up on their golf cart. I unlocked the door to find happy, safe kids. Andrew was sitting on the first step, but I don't think he had any accident. Whew!

I was cooking in the kitchen the other day while Andrew was crawling around playing with toys. All of the sudden, I heard the toilet flush! I found Andrew standing up holding onto the toilet seat, grinning ear to ear, and playing with the toilet water! GROSS!! We definitely keep our bathroom door closed now!

Anna's been having a hard time with bed time lately and last night as we were putting her to sleep, I told her I was going to give her one more kiss and then..... She was to fill in the blank. I wanted her to say "Bedtime!!" Instead, she exclaimed, "CRY TIME!!" Oh boy!

Life is funny! We took the kids to a splash park the other day. They loved it. We went with our good friends, the Hintze's. It was a great day!

Fun on the Fourth

Happy 4th of July to everyone!! We had a great 4th! Best one yet, for sure. We made some yummy flag waffles for breakfast and then headed over to the parade. It was really fun. We spent a lot of time in the pool too. Homemade ice-cream and 4th of July strawberries finished out our day. It was great! Here are a few pictures from our day.

I realize that these aren't great pics but this is all we got.

Do you like her non-matching pink flip flops. Those are her only shoes so we just had to do it.

Andrew looks almost as big as Anna and they're almost two years apart. Crazy.

Here we are at the parade.

Andrew got a front row seat.

Anna loves making ice-cream!!

This is Andrew after swimming. Happy, happy, happy!

I found this idea on the internet. Needless to say, their strawberries sure did look a lot better. It was fun though. I think we'll stick with milk chocolate from now on.

When the Cat's Away....

....The kids will play. Josh was out of town all last week which meant that I had the kids all by myself. I was a little nervous but it turned out to be a pretty good week. Anna made me take some pictures of her and "Anj." I guess you could say it's her new favorite thing to do.
The picture below has a giant bucket in the front but look at that face. I love it.
We did lots of backyard swimming. Andrew really got into it.

Here are a few of my favorite quotes from Anna:

After putting her hair in a pony tail one day she exclaimed, "I'm a girl now!"

I ate a bite out my baby carrot the other day and as I went to eat the rest of it she tells me, "Don't eat it Mom, it's a temple!" I guess it looked like a spire of a temple.

I walked into the kitchen with Anna and asked her if she wanted something to eat to which she replied, "NO WAY Mom!!"

She has a nickname for everything. Her penguin has become her "peng", Andrew is "Anj", she often calls herself "Ann", (which I do too sometimes), and the list goes on.

I love hearing her talk. She's super fun!
