We celebrated Anna's 5th birthday about a month ago. We were so excited for this big day. She couldn't wait to turn 5. Five is the year we move, buy a house, she gets her own room and a big bed, and the year that she starts kindergarten. No wonder that girl couldn't wait! This is a big deal people. We love to make our kids' birthdays feel really special. We want them to know that we love and adore them all the time but especially on their birthdays. I have to tell you though, this has been an insane month. It was so nice to just stop all that had to be done and focus on Anna. I wanted her to have a friend party this year because this is the last year she can celebrate with this group since we will be moving soon. We decided on a princess themed party. I knew just the cake to make. I've seen these barbie princess cakes a million times and was so excited to surprise Anna and show her what her mama could do. So, this is what it was supposed to look like....
....And this is what it ACTUALLY looked like. NAILED IT!!!
Wow! It was so funny that I actually didn't get that upset. I layered it up all fine and then it just totally crumbled. Is that not the funniest thing you've ever seen? I guess I'll have to show Anna how much I love her in other ways. Ha! We hide our kids' birthday presents around the house and then make a little scavenger hunt for them. Even though it is all super obvious to me, it made her think a bit. She loves this part of the day!
Tradition.
Here is cake #2 that was bought 30 minutes before the party. She told me that she LOVED this cake and wanted this one every year. Deal!
Anna painted this picture of Sofia the First and then we played pin the crown on the princess. Is that not the cutest thing?
Playing pin the crown on the princess.
Besties!
There is no Lee party without a little dancing involved. We turned on some music and had a great time. We sure do love dance parties.
Anna's got some pretty sweet moves.
She really wanted a pinata so we obliged. Check out Andrew's face. Priceless. That pretty much sums him up to a T.
Alright....let's get that candy out.
About to blow out her candles.
Her friends totally spoiled her. She got some great gifts. We love all of these people so much and are going to be so sad to say goodbye.
It was a great, exhausting day. She was happy. What more could you ask for?
